SmartDog Launches New WatchDog Diagnostics Support Service For Oracle Applications Customers

Austin, Texas – September 22, 2008 SmartDog Services, an "on command" Oracle consulting company, has just launched an innovative way to help Oracle E-Business customers manage their environment more effectively.

The new WatchDog Diagnostics Support Service has been created to connect to Oracle E-Business application systems and diagnose issues across three areas:

  • Problems within an application; including stale or abandoned transactions, stuck workflows, potential SOX and security risks, and other operational issues affecting customer revenue and profitability

  • Updates from Oracle; including modifications to software and patch releases which are essential to effective and trouble-free system operation

  • Changes from external sources; such as currency conversions or SSN number validation which impact accuracy in sales price, invoicing and collections

SmartDog’s service is a simple 3-step process. The WatchDog System Diagnostics Report is executed against the customer’s system, providing a friendly red-yellow-green flag to alert the customer to important conditions within the customer’s system. SmartDog Services consultants then log into each customer’s system to perform root cause analysis, perform additional research and identify areas that need attention. Then the SmartDog team prepares and delivers recommendations for system improvements through a Proposed Action Plan delivered directly to the customer.

Early results from Beta Test Customers identified some significant issues relating to security and operational efficiencies. One client discovered that over $12 million in raw materials had been received to the receiving dock, but not moved into final inventory. This one test helped isolate the financial close bottleneck that the company was researching.
