Pay for what you need. Rent the licenses and compute.
PaaS gives customers the opportunity to rent licenses and compute per need and necessity. It provides the platform for growth so that you can burst up or down depending on peak periods of usage without paying for the extra licenses or support. How does it work? Customers on PaaS pay for a metered environment that can be turned on or off, and where payment is based on usage
Who is an ideal for PaaS?
Customers with an existing Oracle infrastructure that have the need to burst are the best candidates for Platform-as-a-Service. For example, universities with registration bursts on three occasions per years are able to turn on the metered environment for Spring Registration and to turn it off once the registration period ends. No extra licenses, no extra support. Pay for what you use.
